Ariana Grande critic Piers Morgan apologizes to singer

Parmenio Sano | 08 Giugno, 2017, 12:36

Swiss fans of the American singer Ariana Grande gathered outside the Hallenstadion in Zurich on Monday night to pay their respects to the victims of the attack at a Grande concert in Manchester two weeks ago.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow, with artwork based on the One Love Manchester logo, became available to download on Spotify on Wednesday.

The concert featured artists such as Justin Bieber, Pharrell, Liam Gallagher, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Mac Miller, The Black Eyed Peas and Miley Cyrus. Ariana Grande promised shortly after that she would return to Manchester.

About 50,000 fans gathered in an act of defiance and strength for the sold-out One Love Manchester concert on Sunday. After the benefit, the singer rereleased the track, promising to donate all proceeds to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund in coordination with the British Red Cross.

"So happy to see that last night's concert in Manchester proved that love always prevails", he wrote. But that wasn't going to stop them from coming back to show support for both Grande and the 22 people killed in the attack.

"We had a totally different show planned and had a rehearsal but changed everything".

Piers Morgan, who previously criticised the star in the wake of the attack, tweeted: I misjudged you, @ArianaGrande & I apologise. By re-releasing one of her biggest hits, the songstress is making it clear that she has nothing but love for everyone involved.

Miley Cyrus also praised Ariana - who she dueted with on "Don't Dream It's Over" - for her work on the concert.

Over £2 million has been raised to benefit those affected by last month's Manchester terror attack.

During the show which was aired to millions of people on Sunday, Ariana said: 'I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here today.
