Jurors in the Bill Cosby sexual assault case, weighing charges that could send him to prison for the rest of his life, drilled down Tuesday on what the TV star said happened inside his suburban Philadelphia home and how he characterized his relationship with the accuser.

The twelve jurors - seven men and five women from the Pittsburgh area - began deliberations on Monday and are attempting to determine whether Cosby is guilty of three counts of of aggravated indecent assault.

With deliberations passing the 50-hour mark, longer than the testimony of all the witnesses combined, the 79-year-old TV star's lawyer complained that jurors were seeking a replay of the entire trial.

The jurors told O'Neill on Thursday morning they were having trouble reaching a verdict on any of the three counts he faces, prompting the judge to give a standard instruction that they should keep working. They have spent days asking to have testimony read back, including Constand's trial testimony as well as the first report she made to police in 2005.

The judge denied a defence request for a mistrial. A spokesman for the stand-up comedian and actor told reporters gathered outside the Montgomery County courthouse that the judge should declare a mistrial.

The jurors have appeared increasingly exhausted and upset as deliberations dragged on for almost 40 hours over four days.

The jury handling Bill Cosby's sexual assault trial said it was deadlocked and could not reach a definitive verdict Thursday, after more than 40 hours of deliberations over four days.

Attorney Gloria Allred speaks with members of the media during jury deliberations in Bill Cosby's sexual assault trial at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, Pa., Thursday, June 15, 2017.

Dozens of women have come forward to say he drugged and assaulted them, but this was the only case to result in criminal charges.

Allred also expressed disappointment at the fact that the jury was unable to reach a verdict, stating that a retrial would be too expensive. "Hey!" to Cosby as he enters the courthouse every morning, to the woman shouting "We've already won!" while driving a U-Haul truck with an anti-sexual assault message, there's plenty for the myriad of news organizations covering the trial to see.

But they didn't come up with a verdict, leaving them exhausted and spent after a long day in the jury room.

"I am required to read you an instruction". Each carries a maximum 10-year prison term, though the counts could be merged at sentencing if he is convicted.

"I believe this jury is exhausted, is weary", McMonagle said late Friday, as the jury wrapped up another marathon round of deliberations.

The 12-member jury informed the court that after almost 30 hours of deliberations, they had been unable to reach a unanimous decision.

The case has helped demolish Cosby's nice-guy image, cultivated during his eight-year run as Dr. Cliff Huxtable on the top-rated "The Cosby Show" in the 1980s and '90s.

Yet before they were released for the evening, a rattled O'Neill bizarrely brought in the exhausted-looking jury, appeared to chastise them, and sent them back to the jury room-forgetting to formally dismiss them.

The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they grant permission, which Constand has done.

"This thing is a deadlock", Cosby's spokesman Andrew Wyatt said, the Los Angeles Times reported.
