Sharia law doesn't exist the United States, but that hasn't stopped it from becoming a political issue.

"It is my fear that if people become so scared that someone will say we must wipe you all out for our safety for our family for our children's safety you have to go", said Brazani.

To be clear, there is no Sharia Law in Kansas City, nor is there any movement to implement it. But that did not stop some protestors from saying that Islam as a whole and not just radical Islamic terrorism was incompatible with the values of the United States and the Constitution. "We're anti-Shariah. We're anti-radicals", the Upland woman said. As they headed to their cars, anti-Sharia protesters smashed the rear window of at least one vehicle as the driver pulled away.

Lori says the Sharia law does more harm than good for millions of Muslims.

"They believe that Muslims are trying to implement Sharia law in this country and totally replace the Constitution, which is impossible". The counter-protesters yelled and sounded horns to drown out the anti-Sharia group, CNN affiliate KOMO reported. The marches, launched by ACT for America, a s.

In front of the Trump building in downtown Chicago, about 30 people demonstrated against Islamic law and in favor of President Donald Trump, shouting slogans and holding signs that read "Ban Sharia" and "Sharia abuses women".

The Council on American-Islamic Relations in May said that the number of anti-Muslim incidents surged 57 percent last year compared to the year 2015.

The opposing groups varied in their numbers throughout Saturday afternoon.

Mike Lacey of Harrisburg protested the anti-Sharia march, although he wasn't dressed in black like most other participants. Police were called out to make sure the protests stayed peaceful, especially when people from both groups confronted one another to have their voices heard.

Protesters marched against Sharia law across the country Saturday, June 10th.

The other march, Seattle Stands with our Muslim Neighbors, counteracted the Seattle ACT for America protest, which they call a recognized Islamophobic hate group.

Activists protesting against sharia law and their opponents clashed in rallies across America, in some cases leading to arrests and violent confrontations and showing continued divisiveness about Islam and Islamic law in this country. There were three times as many counter-protesters outside.

A counter-protest is also scheduled at the same location.

Several scuffles broke out on the Capitol steps as the events drew to a close and state troopers escorted anti-Shariah protesters across the grounds.

The civil rights legal advocacy group Southern Poverty Law Center classifies ACT as a hate-group, and the largest grassroots anti-Muslim group in the USA with a claimed membership of 280,000.

Act for America has been obsessed with Shariah law and began a campaign against it in 2008.
