Constand, a former women's basketball coach at Cosby's alma mater, Temple University, told jurors in Philadelphia suburb Norristown, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday that Cosby gave her unidentified pills at his home that left her "frozen" and unable to resist as he sexually assaulted her on his couch.
William Henry Cosby Jr., as his name appears on charging documents, faces three felony counts of aggravated indecent assault in connection with the alleged sexual assault.
The deposition Cosby provided in that civil suit, in which he admitted to many of Constand's allegations, is central to the case against him.
Ms Constand has been barred from talking about her allegations for almost 12 years, following a successful civil case she brought against the comedian in 2006.
During the start of the cross-examination of Constand, defense lawyer Angela C. Agrusa suggested Constand gave inconsistent statements to investigators concerning her contact with Cosby before and after the alleged incident and implied her testimony can not be trusted.
Constand and Johnson are the only Cosby accusers expected to testify during the two-week trial in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

Andrea Constand's voice quivered as she began describing the 2004 incident at Cosby's Philadelphia-area home while Cosby, 79, at times shook his head.
